Into you (Video)
This video was created as part of my study abroad program in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, Ireland at the Burren College of Art. I made it to reflect the discomfort I was experiencing regarding not really feeling like I was a part of things and the resolution of that discomfort. It really represents The Propagation Project very well in that it’s all about finding my way into a sense of home in a place that is very important to me personally. In fact, the first Propagation Project iron face now sits at the bottom of the water seen in this video somewhere between Ballyvaughan Bay and Galway Bay. As a side note, the large boulders seen halfway through are called glacial erratics. They are displaced bodies moved by the glaciers of the last ice age. I felt strangely akin to these boulders at the time I made these, as if I too had been deposited somewhere I really should have been, but had no earthly business being there. You can read more about the glacial erratic here. Music by The Cinematic Orchestra.
