Into the Void
This installation was part of a group show at Pikes Peak Community College called: Stratified Senses and Sensualities: Installations about and inspiring the senses. It was curated by Laura BenAmots. This piece was built to attempt to demonstrate the process of finding your inspiration. It is composed primarily of sisal twine, but also contains a sound element which projects a soothing, meditative soundtrack which can only be heard clearly while sitting at the chair at the mouth of the vortex. The installation is meant to reflect the way that I often feel when I’m exploring new work. It’s as if I can feel the ideas fluttering around the edges of my consciousness but they don’t become solid ideas until I am able to put aside all other thoughts for a moment and focus on them.
